Doodle Animator for Sprout

Doodle Animator was the application concept I was tasked with creating and fleshing out during my internship. This application was designed to take advantage of the unique abilities of the new system. This application, if used, would be the first application for animation to take advantage of the dual interaction concept.

Doodle Animator is an interactive animation experience aimed at children of the elementary school age. The goal of the application is for children to able to create a short scene based animation with minimal interaction from an adult. The application uses the Sprout over head camera to capture physical objects for children to bring into their animations. The application contains "stickers" which are objects with embedded animation. While recording the user can interact with the stickers and captured objects to create the animation.

The stickers would be organized in categories:

The animations were organized by scenes. Each scene could be up to 15 seconds long. Each scene is recorded individually, and when the play button is pressed, scenes are played in order. Scenes can be rearranged in the scene drawer. The scenes are managed on the bottom mat of the Sprout unit.
