Your kids don't have to take your word anymore. Prove that the Jolly Saint Nick visited with Santa Tracker by Lowes'.

Say what you will about the merits of an all-knowing, judgmental saint from the Arctic Circle. Plenty of parents bend over backward to keep the magic of the holiday alive for their family for as long as possible. That Lowe's has put out this gimmick app to help is a fun, harmless way to market its smart-home system. - C-Net's Andrew Gebhart

When you first open the app, you set up various sensors where Santa may pass through. After taking a picture of your tree or fireplace, Iris will paste a picture capturing Santa Clause as proof of his visit.

The app was developed and designed as both a stand-alone app and a built in service card on the main Iris by Lowe's app.

Integrate the Iris by Lowes' smart home system into a fun, possibly reusable holiday themed app. Deliver the design in a week.

Due to the time constraints, Santa Tracker was built off of the same build and design rules as the Iris by Lowes' app. This  had the added bonus of being able to be integrated into the Iris by Lowe's app. This allowed current users to enjoy Santa Tracker and not download another app to their phone. By continuing the use of the current framework, and adding custom components, it allows the Santa Tracker app to work as it's own frame work for other one-off holidays or special events.

During this quick turn-around, I was responsible for taking the frame-work of the partner app, Iris by Lowes' and customizing it for the needs of the Santa Tracker. This included icon design, a splash page, and general design decisions.

The app was designed, coded, and delivered in under three weeks. It is available on both iOS and Android. The app has gotten attention and praise.
